In compliance with the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, all TJSL volunteer and paid coaches, trainers, managers and members of the Board of Trustees are required to report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect, including child sexual abuse, within 24 hours of becoming aware of the suspected abuse. The reports should be made to the following entities:
Local law enforcement by calling 911
Child Protective Services by calling 1-877 NJ ABUSE (1-877-652-2873) and making a report to the State Central Registry.
US Center for SafeSport by calling 720-531-0340 or making an online report at SafeSport Concern.
TJSL's via email (if you would prefer to make the report by phone, please email your phone number and you will be contacted)
Any individual who is required, but fails, to report suspected child abuse is subject to criminal penalties.
TJSL is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our players. To that end, all of our volunteers and staff who have contact with our players are required to complete the SafeSport abuse prevention and recognition training, and pass a criminal background check. TJSL will not tolerate retaliation against a volunteer or employee who reports suspected child abuse in good faith.
Additional information regarding Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting can be found on US Club Soccer's website.
